Once again, the people who care know you're posing. The ones who don't care, don't care.

I saw one on the back of an old 190. It was so weird, mostly because it was in amazing shape so I assumed the guy would have known better.

It's on an "L", which is even funnier.
I never understood the old guys I see driving these (and the A8L as well) - why do you buy yourself the "limo" model and then drive yourself around in it? Get the regular model - it'll cost less and be just as comfortable. Or better yet, get a driver and pamper yourself properly.

2 reasons:
1. Status symbol. They could get a 5-series and be just as comfortable.
2. Golf. People that buy 7-series take each other golfing.

Maybe they regularly haul family members around, and wanted them to have as much legroom as they could afford to give them?

I drove an A8L once.
It makes complete sense as the rich mans family car. 5 people in that car is a dream. The ride is amazing, the space is incredible (hell, the new quattroporte mimics the same kind of internal space).
Better than buying a more useless large crossover in my mind.

I'm up there from time to time. I knew it looked familiar, had to check Google street view.
